Missouri Basement was recently hired to repair a St. Charles, MO settling foundation that had settled 1-1/2 inches along the front wall. The settlement caused numerous cracks along the foundation wall, as well as cracks in the drywall and sticking doors and windows on the main floor.
Our customer preferred to have the foundation lifted as close as possible to it's original elevation, rather than just stabilized. The repair plan consisted of a full excavation of the settling foundation wall and an exterior installation of seven Grip-Tite Foundation Push Piers.
The piers were hydraulically driven individually to the proper load bearing depth. Next, the piers were interlinked via hydraulic hoses between each lift cylinder and pier which puts an even amount of lifiting force on each pier which allows for a safe, simultaneous lift of the foundation to the original elevation.
Settling foundations are a common problem throughout St. Charles, St. Peters, Ofallon, Wentzville, and Warrenton MO due to our unstable soil conditions. If you have any concerns regarding your foundation, contact us to schedule a free foundation inspection.
